With the holidays around the corner, I wanted to put together a list of sustainable and ethical Christmas gift ideas for slow fashion lovers.
Tis’ the season to be jolly and thoughtful, right?
You can send this post to your family and friends or share it on your socials to spread the message of thoughtful giving.
So, get comfortable and cozy, and let’s dive into my Christmas Gift Guide for Slow Fashion Lovers! Because why not spread some love for the planet while we’re spreading holiday cheer!
First and foremost…
Before thinking of buying a gift, make sure you know whether the person you are buying for actually wants a physical gift. These days, many conscious consumers don’t want a physical gift and would rather be gifted an experience. Everyone is different, but this is something you should investigate before shopping.
A Christmas Gift Guide for Slow Fashion Lovers
Responsibly Sourced Diamond Necklace (Monica Vinader)
One of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe is my diamond necklace from Monica Vinader. I think it would make the perfect gift for a conscious consumer, as would any of their pieces. For 20% off, use the code EMILYE20.
Silk PJs (The Ethical Silk Company)
With a range of colours and styles to choose from, you really can’t go past Silk Pyjamas from The Ethical Silk Company. Silk PJs are often something we don’t want to buy for ourselves, so they make the perfect gift!
Patagonia Anything!
If you have a special someone who loves adventure and getting out in nature, getting them something useful and thoughtful from Patagonia could be the way.
Christmas Gift Guide (Made Trade)
If you’re stuck for ideas, I love the Christmas Gift Guide from Made Trade. Made Trade is an online retailer that stocks conscious brands. It’s great for those located in the USA or Canada.
The Curated Closet Book
The Curated Closet is a great book for anyone working on their personal style. Curating your wardrobe is a huge part of slow fashion and conscious consumption. Just make sure you only buy this for someone you know will love it (and not be offended that you bought them a book to improve their style!)
Colourful Pyjamas (Kip & Co)
Pjs were a Christmas gift tradition in our house growing up! If you have any loved ones who love colour, look no further than Kip & Co. They have the cutest range of colourful pyjamas. They also stock much more including bedding and homewares, and is a great place to have a browse for gifts.
Clothing Rental Subscription
I love the idea of a clothing rental subscription. This could work well for those slow fashion lovers who go to lots of events and parties and are always wanting to wear something different. Renting is a fantastic sustainable choice. So why not gift a clothing rental subscription?!
Sustainable Magazine Rental Subscription
Another subscription that would be a great gift for any slow fashion lovers and conscious consumers. Here in Australia we have Peppermint Mag, wherever you are in the world, do a quick google and see what comes up for you!
A Second-hand Designer Piece from Vestiere Co.
Second-hand gifts can be great for those people who truly love second-hand shopping. You can get great discounts on designer pieces from Vestiere Co. Make sure the person you are buying from respects the thought behind a second-hand gift. I personally would, but I know others may not.
A certain item from their favourite brand
Only you know your special someone and what they truly love. Do you know a sustainable and ethical brand that they adore? Choose something yourself and surprise them with a gift from that brand.
My partner loves to surprise me with Daughters of India dresses for my birthday or Christmas. He knows how much I love and respect the brand.
Voucher to their favourite brand
Maybe this one might not feel as special as the others, but I think if you’re worried about buying the right thing, a voucher for the right brand could be the better choice. At least you have put thought into the fact that this person cares about slow fashion and wants to support the conscious brands. And if you get a voucher, at least you know the person is getting something they will love and use.
I hope you enjoyed this Christmas Gift Guide for Slow Fashion Lovers! Please feel free to share on your socials to spread the word.
Happy conscious shopping!
